FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
August 17, 2009

GLENVIEW, IL – Kohl Children’s Museum’s Board of Governors is proud to host the 13th annual “Chip In For Children” golf outing on August 31, 2009 at The Glen View Club in Golf. All proceeds from the event support the Museum’s operations and educational outreach programming. Museum officials expect the event, the largest annual fundraising event held by the Board of Governors, to net approximately $54,000.

In addition to trophies awarded for feats such as longest drive and best ball foursome, the event will feature a special Hole-In-One contest, with a prize of an automobile lease from Fields Auto Group in Northfield. Fields is a major contributor to the Museum, having underwritten the popular Car Care exhibit. A similar contest was won at the Museum’s 2006 golf outing by Jim Lyman of Winnetka. Golfers will also get to compete in a “Beat the Pros” contest, attempting to outdrive two golf pros.

In conjunction with the event, the Museum is also selling raffle tickets with a prize of $2,500. Tickets sell for $10 each, with discounts for larger amounts. To purchase tickets, contact the Museum at 847-832-6911 or visit www.kohlchildrensmuseum.org/golf.

“Chip in for Children” event chairs include Board of Governors members Greg Hayward of ITW Pancon, based in Glenview and Rob Roth of ECC Insurance Brokers Inc., located in Oak Brook. Major event sponsors included Northern Trust, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Illinois Tool Works Inc.
