Potbelly Sandwich Works

Got the munchies? At our play Potbelly café, children get to try their hand at working the lunch hour and making pretend meals for diners.

Things to Do:
  • Answer the Potbelly phone and take meal orders.
  • Fix sandwiches and run them through the conveyor oven.
  • Use trays, utensils, serving spoons, to complete the orders and serve the customers.
  • Greet and seat customers and work the cash register.
  • Make milkshakes for customers.
Learning Outcomes:
  • Enact the roles of cook, server, and diner, interchanging roles with other children and adult caregivers.
  • Cooperate with other visitors in allocating and sharing materials and ideas.
  • Counting, sorting, sequencing.
  • Accommodate the needs of others.
