V.I.P. Session FAQs
November 17 Update: In keeping with the recent Tier 3 mitigation efforts announced by the State of Illinois, V.I.P. sessions will suspend operations temporarily beginning Friday, November 20. The Museum is also suspending new sales of V.I.P. sessions until Tier 3 mitigations end. Those who have reserved sessions to be held November 20 or later will be contacted regarding rescheduling options.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred to another family. If you notify the Museum at info@kcmgc.org prior to your scheduled visit start time, tickets may be rescheduled. A $50 fee for rescheduling may apply.
Why do members pay for this program?
V.I.P. sessions are exclusive special events, separate from regular Museum admission. As the Museum exhibits are not yet accessible to the public yet under State of Illinois guidelines, we are continuing to pause all Museum memberships until we are able to more fully re-open the exhibit environment. Please be assured that existing memberships will be automatically extended the full length of the closure to ensure you have your complete 12 months of free admission to the exhibits. We have appended months to all memberships active as of 3/14/20 so that you can receive your discounts to V.I.P. sessions! If exhibits remain closed longer, we will extend memberships again on a month-by-month basis.
Can I purchase on-site?
All sessions require 48 hours advance notice to arrange staffing. Due to scheduling, we may not be able to accommodate walk-ins. Please call (847) 832-6600 if you have questions about packages within 48 hours.
How are you preventing the spread of germs?
Following CDC, state, and local guidelines, the Museum enhanced its already robust cleaning procedures:
- We’ve installed sneeze guards at check-in, and installed extra hand sanitizer stations for public use.
- All staff and guests will have contactless temperatures taken at check-in.
- We circulate fresh air in our building frequently each day.
- Before and after each daily session, the Super Scrub Squad will perform a deep clean on all exhibits.
Can my child play in other Museum exhibits?
Only Museum exhibits included in your package will be available for your exclusive exploration.
Are strollers allowed?
Strollers will be allowed in all areas with you.
