Butterfly Encounter (Seasonal)

Wander among native Illinois butterflies and observe their behavior up close. Discover butterfly eggs, caterpillars, and chrysalises too.

• Open June 19 to August 22 from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM (morning hours maximize a butterfly’s natural activity cycle!)
• Located in Habitat Park and viewable from the outside during all Habitat Park operating hours

Outer Habitat Park and Butterfly encounter may close under the following weather conditions: heat index of 90º, wet ground, air-quality advisory, threat of electrical storms.
