Access & Inclusion

Kohl Children’s Museum’s access & inclusion programs are designed to promote high impact early learning experiences for children.

We provide professional training to help develop stronger early childhood educators in low-income neighborhoods. We thoughtfully create engaging learning experiences that welcome children with special needs and their families. We aspire to reach as many young children as possible through outreach, programming, traveling exhibits, and thought leadership.

By working with educators and caregivers in the early childhood field and offering targeted programs that influence children when they are most receptive, the Museum is inspiring meaningful change in the education of young children throughout the Greater Chicago Area.

October 14: Pop-Up Museum Opening in Round Lake

Experience Museum exhibits and programs at pop-up locations throughout the Greater Chicago Area. From October through December, visit our Pop-Up Museum at the John and Kathy Shreiber Center for Human Services in Round Lake.

We warmly invite families of children with special needs to explore the Museum while it’s closed to the general public. This free afternoon program makes calm, collaborative play accessible to young learners of all abilities.
