Theater Games

It’s time to let your inner actor out with Theater Games on Sundays at 10 AM and Thursdays at 1 PM.

February 1, February 5, February 8, February 12:

The Backwards Room

We’ve made a startling discovery here at the Museum: a room where everything happens BACKWARDS! Act out every day activities from finish to start.

February 15, February 19, February 22, February 26:

Life of a Snowflake

Have you ever twirled in a cloud? Or fallen from the sky? Or been mushed into a snowball? Join us as we live out the lives of tiny bits of snow.

March 1, March 5, March 8, March 12:

Invisible Catch

Can you catch a giant ball that weighs a million pounds? What about a baseball that’s suuuuuper hot? Or a mouse? Come have fun throwing and catching all sorts of imaginary objects.

March 15, March 19, March 22, March 26:

Once Upon A Time

Oh no! We totally forgot the story we were going to tell you. Can you help us create and draw a new one?

April 2, April 5, April 9, April 12, April 16:

Silly Face Brigade

Your face will freeze that way. Unless you practice. See how far your face will stretch with sad faces, happy faces, duck faces, baby faces, and MONSTER faces.

April 19, April 23, April 26, April 30:

Telephone

How well can we listen? Can we pass a phrase around the circle? What about an action? See how what we say and do can change as it goes from person to person in this fun theatre game.

May 3, May 7, May 10, May 14:

Dice Story

Emotions are hard for us actors. Fortunately, we have dice to tell us how to feel. A new puppy. The dice say we’re sad. It’s raining outside. The dice say we’re hungry. Roll for emotions to see how you feel about our theatre game!

May 17, May 21, May 24, May 28, May 31:

Imagination Marathon

Are you ready for the Kohl Children’s Museum Imagination Marathon? Follow us uphill and down through forests, deserts, oceans, and even outer space while we run in place.

June 4, June 7, June 11, June 14:

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Play ball! Come join KCM’s very own pretend baseball team: The Kohl Imaginators! Throw pitches, hit home runs, and win the World Series as everyone cheers you on!

June 18, June 21, June 25, June 28:

Under the Sea

Surf, snorkel, and adventure through the ocean without getting wet. We may see whales and sharks. We may BE whales and sharks. The underwater world is our oyster when we use our imaginations.
